We make every Perfect Vent out of the actual flooring. This ensures an exact match of color, thickness and texture. Perfect Vents are truly as beautiful as your floor.
Our standard turnaround time for custom floor vents is 3 to 5 business days after we receive your order and materials. We work quickly to ensure your project stays completely on schedule.
Not a problem at all. We can still craft perfectly matching custom vents for your project. We will provide a pre-paid shipping label so you can send us your material. We need about 16 inches of flooring for each vent, plus one or two extra pieces just in case.
If your new floor has not been installed yet, then you should measure the actual air duct that is cut into the subfloor. If your new flooring has already been installed, then in addition to the air duct hole size in the subfloor we also need to know what size opening the actual flooring has been cut to. This will ensure we provide a large enough profile to get a proper fit.
Yes, you can easily control airflow. By rotating the matching vent cover 180 degrees, you can turn the airflow completely on or off.
Either. Installation was at the fore front of the design for Perfect Vents. With the use of the Perfect Vent Template, your flush mount vents can be installed during or after the original flooring install. Careful attention does need to be taken when measuring for the vents if the floor has already been installed. In addition to measuring the air duct size, a measurement also needs to be taken of the hole size cut into the flooring itself. If the installer was not aware flush mount vents were going to be installed the hole may be cut slightly larger than our standard profile. Not to worry though. We offer a Retro-Fit profile just for situations like this.
Yes! The Perfect Vent Template allows you to install the vent with almost no risk of over cutting or mis cutting the hole size. The Template is made out of 1/4″ Steel to ensure the hole is the precise size of your Perfect Vent. The Solid steel also allows the installer to cut with a multi-tool saw without fear of over cutting into the corners.
Our system is designed to be used in a floating application, making it ideal for vinyl flooring vents, but it can be slightly modified for a glue down installation. To allow future access to the air duct, the space immediately surrounding the duct would need to be left unglued. A distance of approximately 18 to 24 inches on either end and 6 to 9 inches on the sides should not be glued. This ensures the metal support plate can slide under the floor and out of the way.
Not necessarily. This will depend on the size vents you are installing. In an effort to make our system as simple as possible, each of our templates can be used on multiple sizes of vents. For example, our Standard Template is used for 2×10 through 4×12 vents sizes. We make the outside profile of each of those sizes the exact same and simply change the size of the air holes.
The outside profile of both vents are the same but the number of air holes is different. This makes it so our Standard Template can be used to cut both openings.
The Perfect Vent Support Metal is universal in size. The same metal support is used for multiple sizes. We change the size of the holes in the vent cover only depending on the vent that is being ordered.
Along with the Perfect Vent Template, a multi-tool or oscillating saw should be used. This tool allows for the best installation with the least amount of clean up.
Our patented system allows for easy air duct cleaning! Simply remove the magnetic Perfect Vent cover, slide the support metal out of the way under the floating floor, clean the duct, slide the metal back and set the Perfect Vent cover back in place.
Perfect Vents are proudly produced in Michigan. The Perfect Vent support metals, Templates, and all coatings are also sourced from other local Michigan companies.
Yes we do. We can produce almost any size cover but are limited in the support metals. Due to the thickness that we need to make the support metal to stay within manufacturer specs, the widest opening our vents can span is 7.5″. With our expandable support metals though, the vent can be as long as required. Please contact us for questions regarding our custom vents sizes.
