Here are some of the typical questions people have when deciding whether to get our flawless floor duct covers:
- Will they match my floor? Yes, because we make the covers out of pieces of your actual flooring.
- How long does it take to get them? We typically finish them within 3 to 5 business days of receiving your order.
- Where are they made? We make them here in Michigan, then ship them to you in Nebraska.

More Questions About Covering the Vents in Your Floor
Creating and installing our floor vents is a process, and with that comes questions. We’re always happy to help our clients better understand everything they need to know about our products before ordering.
Here are some of the most important questions we get from homeowners, and our answers to them:
Q: “What If My Flooring Brand Isn’t on Your List?”
A: This really isn’t a problem for us. We can still make perfectly matching custom vents for your home by sending you a pre-paid shipping label.
Our label makes it easier for you to send us a piece of your flooring material. We typically ask you to send about 16 inches of flooring for each event, plus two extra pieces just in case.
Q: “What If I Need Custom Floor Vent Sizing?”
A: We can manufacture floor vents in nearly any size, but we’re limited in the support metals. Due to the thickness needed to make the support metal stay within manufacturer specs, 7.5″ is the widest opening our vents can span.
With our expandable support metals, your vent can be as long as you need. If you have more questions about custom vent sizes, just give us a call at
Q: “Should I Install my Perfect Vents Before or After the Flooring Installation?”
A: You can do it before or after the flooring is installed. Your success ultimately depends on how well you measure, especially if the floor has already been installed.
Remember, when measuring the air duct size, you also need to measure the hole size that’s cut into the floor. If the installer wasn’t aware that our flush-mount vents would be installed, the hole might be slightly larger than our standard profile. We offer a retrofit profile for these situations.
Q: “What Do I Need to Do for my Floor Vents?”
A: There are three things you need to do to aid things along. Most of our clients find this a fairly straightforward process:
- Prep & Cut: Cut a rough opening over the air duct. Then use a precise template to manually trace and cut the exact shape using an oscillating multi-tool.
- Insert the Plate: Eliminate debris, slide the support plate through the hole, and position it beneath the flooring grid.
- Place the Vent: Drop the custom vent into place so the magnetic connection can secure it.
Granted, this is a brief overview of the process. We provide detailed installation instructions and how-to videos to help guide you through this process.
